We`ve seen multiple instances with spammers abusing our servers and network via insecure scripts within customers accounts; this has resulted in a number of our servers becoming listed on SPAM blacklists (RBL). After several days of working with the RBL operators, we`ve managed to get the servers removed from these blacklists to enable normal mail delivery to resume.

As a result, we`ve had to take immediate steps to tighten our Firewall security to prevent outgoing SMTP connections from scripts to third party SMTP servers in an effort to help stop our servers from becoming listed again. All mail leaving our network that uses SMTP must use our SMTP servers.

For the vast majority of clients this change will not affect you, only customers who have installed scripts on their accounts and have configured them to send emails using SMTP will be affected by this security change.

For clients who have scripts installed and have set them up to send email using SMTP you need to alter the scripts settings to either use the internal PHP Mail function or set the SMTP server to "localhost".

We would like to remind customers that if you have installed scripts within your account that they must be kept up to date and patched with updates released from the relevant software developers.
